Why Go Ductless?

In recent years, ductless air conditioners have become increasingly popular in homes all over the world. Why are they so popular and why should you consider ductless for your home? There are a few reasons why you might decide it is a better fit than a traditional central air system, but space is among the biggest concerns for most that opt for one of these versatile systems.

DB Heating & Cooling, Inc. specializes in installing and servicing ductless split systems in the Bergen County and Rockland County, NY areas. Our technicians will analyze your home and present you with your options to help you select a system that matches both your budget and home comfort needs. If you are unsure about your cooling options and whether or not ductless might work for your home, give us a call today to learn more.

Ductless Systems Save Space

The number one reason homeowners go ductless is because they simply don’t have enough space for the ductwork needed in a forced air system.

You see, a traditional air conditioner has a compressor or packaged unit outside of your home that replaces the warm air inside your home with cooler, conditioned air. The cool air is circulated by the air handler attached to a furnace through ductwork.

If you have a boiler system, you likely don’t have this ductwork in your home. Newer homes tend to have ductwork and vents installed, but older homes were built with pipes and boilers to save space. Installing a traditional cooling system in a house like this can be a complicated process.

We often recommend ductless mini splits because they offer the same comfort level of a central system without duct installation but with the added benefit of individual room temperature control.

Ductless AC Control

While not usually the primary reason for selecting ductless air conditioning, there is definitely something to be said for the added control you gain by having separate units in different rooms of your home. A ductless system allows you to individually control each unit in your home — eight indoor units can run off of a single outdoor unit — without having to set a central thermostat.

You can even completely turn individual units off if they are in rooms that aren’t being used at any given time. This reduces your overall cooling load and saves you money when you’re not at home or not using some rooms.

Ductless AC Options

If you don’t have the room for ductwork and you’re interested in a system with higher efficiency, better control and more range than window units, ductless air conditioners may be the right fit for your home. Call the Bergen County, NJ and Rockland County, NY area ductless AC experts at DB Heating & Cooling, Inc. to discuss your options. Our technicians have years of experience providing ductless cooling solutions for customers across the region and we can help design a system that will be the perfect match for your home.
